In April of 1994, I had meet a lady through a mutual friend who was going through a "BAD" divorce.
This lady had a friend in Austria that had placed an ad for
me in the Linz, Austrian newspaper. It read, American male 48 years of age looking to meet
a Lady to travel the "United States" and possible marriage.

I took a trip arriving in Linz, Austria on April 6th for a 10 day search for a
wife. On the 6th day, April 11th this beautiful Lady came walking in to my life.

In August of 1995 I had written on a 3"x5" card what I was looking for in my Future wife.
The card read, "She had to be 5' 1" to 5' 2", With "Red Hair", between 110 lb. to 115 lb.,
she had to like children. With a nice outgoing personality. The last sentence read, "She
would come to meet me. Okay, I did travel 5,600 miles to be in the same town. But Martina
did drive the last 10 kilometers to meet me.

On the 11th of April 1996, my friend Klaus in Austria that placed the Ad for me called Martina at the
phone number she had left on his answering machine and told her the "American" was in Linz
and would like to meet her. And that if it was okay, then the American would call her for an evening out.
She told him "Okay." As soon as Klaus called me, I called her and asked if she would like
to come meet me.

I had told her that I would be standing outside waiting for her to arrive at the Guesthouse I stayed at.
That she would know me, because I would be in blue jeans with a "Cowboy Hat on."

That evening this beautiful lady came walking out of the dark and into my Life. The first thing that came to
mind was, "Dear God," I know you would not treat me like a Donkey by holding a carrot in front of me.
That this is the woman you have chosen for me.

After that we walked inside the Guest House Restaurant.
We sat there for two hours talking about everything. It was 11 o'clock and I asked her if
she would like to go for a walk. It was cold outside, but away we went. After about an
hour I had walked her to her car.

We had talked about everything but, then I asked her what kind of work she did? She said she was a Secretary,
then, I ask what Company she work for? Not sure of the question, I asked where she worked?
She answered "Caritas." I said oh really, Do you know a girl by the name of Ingrid Ruhmer?
She replied, yes, then I said, you know my friend Klaus, he is Ingrid's brother. I then told her that she would talk
to Ingrid in the morning. What a small world it is we live in.

On February 18, 2009, we just celebrated our 12th anniversary.
